Mahura's Overtime Goal Secures Thrilling 4-3 Victory for Kraken Against the Maple Leafs.

Josh Mahura's first goal of the season at 3:06 in overtime secured a 4-3 victory for the Seattle Kraken against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night. The Kraken opened their six-game road trip with this win, overcoming consecutive extra-time losses against the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators.

The game was evenly matched, with John Tavares scoring twice for the Maple Leafs, achieving 500 career points with the team. Morgan Rielly also contributed a goal for Toronto. For the Kraken, Shane Wright scored a goal and an assist, while Jani Nyman and Vince Dunn also found the back of the net.

Tavares' second goal of the game, a power-play goal early in the third period, tied the score at 3-3. However, Mahura's decisive goal in overtime sealed the win for Seattle. Mahura took a pass and moved in on Stolarz, beating him with a shot upstairs.

Joey Daccord made 26 saves for the Kraken, while Anthony Stolarz stopped 24 shots for the Maple Leafs. Mason Marchment contributed two assists for Seattle, and William Nylander had two assists for Toronto.

The Kraken arrived at Scotiabank Arena sporting Mariners jerseys, showing their support as the Seattle baseball team leads the Toronto Blue Jays 3-2 in the American League Championship Series. A win on Sunday in Game 6 at Rogers Centre would clinch the franchise's first-ever World Series berth.

Leafs' coach Craig Berube inserted Steven Lorentz into the lineup for Calle Jarnkrok, citing a "numbers game" after Lorentz's recent injury and healthy scratch. The Kraken were without No. 1 defenseman Brandon Montour due to a "family matter," and Cale Fleury took his place on the blue line. Seattle also announced that center Frederick Gaudreau will be out for up to six weeks with an upper-body injury.

With this win, the Kraken have won their first of three on the road. The Maple Leafs have gone to overtime in their second consecutive game, while this is the fourth consecutive extra period for the Kraken.

The Kraken will visit the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday night, while the Maple Leafs will host the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night.
