Arsenal are reportedly pushing to finalize a deal for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, as manager Mikel Arteta has set a deadline for the transfer. Arteta wants any new attacking acquisition wrapped up before the team departs for their pre-season tour of Asia on July 19th. This means the bulk of negotiations must be completed the week of July 14th, leaving a small window to finalize the deal. Several options have emerged for Arsenal, including RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins. However, Gyokeres appears to be the primary target. Arsenal is reportedly close to agreeing to personal terms with the Swedish forward.

Sporting CP is reportedly calm about the situation and does not need to sell Gyokeres. However, they are willing to be reasonable regarding the amount requested for Gyokeres, acknowledging the player's dreams. Sporting has stated that Gyokeres will not be leaving for €60+10 million. While negotiations continue, Arteta is eager to complete the deal as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Manchester United is facing a potential exodus of players as five first-team members have expressed their desire to leave the club. Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia have all indicated they want to pursue opportunities elsewhere. This comes after a challenging Premier League season for Manchester United, finishing in a disappointing 15th place.

Ruben Amorim's arrival as manager has struggled to unify the dressing room, and strained relationships with key players have accelerated the potential exodus. Manchester United has adjusted its pre-season approach, giving the five players additional time to consider their futures and engage in talks with interested clubs. The club has confirmed that medical and rehabilitation facilities will remain available to these players, and virtual support will also be provided.

Several factors contribute to this potential player exodus. Rashford's role was reduced under Amorim, leading to him being loaned to Aston Villa. Sancho, after being frozen out at United, was loaned to Chelsea. Antony spent the season searching for form at Real Betis. Malacia, plagued by injuries, was loaned to PSV Eindhoven. Barcelona is reportedly interested in Rashford, while other clubs are monitoring the situations of Garnacho, Sancho, Antony and Malacia.

Manchester United will require the right personnel to implement his tactical ideas. Therefore, a major overhaul is apparently on the way.
