Estranged Wife's "I Love You" to Shami: An Instagram Rant Filled with Emotion and Unresolved Issues.

The tumultuous relationship between Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami and his estranged wife, Hasin Jahan, has once again grabbed headlines, this time fueled by an emotional and accusatory Instagram post by Jahan. The post, which initially appeared to be a declaration of love, quickly morphed into a scathing critique of Shami's actions and character, highlighting the deep-seated resentment and legal battles that have defined their separation.

Jahan's recent social media activity comes on the heels of a Calcutta High Court ruling that directed Shami to pay ₹4 lakh per month as interim maintenance to her and their daughter. The court order stipulated that ₹1.5 lakh would be allocated to Jahan and ₹2.5 lakh for their daughter, a decision that Jahan welcomed but also deemed insufficient, hinting at plans to pursue a higher alimony amount in future hearings.

In her Instagram post, accompanied by a video set to a romantic song, Jahan addressed Shami directly, stating, "I love you". However, the message quickly took a sharp turn, as she questioned what he had gained from their seven-year-long legal battle, accusing him of destroying their family through his character, greed, and poor decisions. Jahan went on to accuse Shami of spending money on "wrong people and prostitutes" instead of providing a better life and education for their daughter. She also alleged that he had hired criminals to defame, threaten, and harass her over the years.

"If the money you wasted had been spent on your daughter's future and on giving me a good life, we could have lived a life of dignity and avoided sin," she wrote, underscoring her frustration and sense of betrayal. Despite the accusations, Jahan portrayed herself as resilient, stating that her faith had given her strength, patience, and endurance. She also criticized what she described as a male-dominated society and vowed to continue seeking justice through legal means, asserting her determination to claim her rights through the law and live happily.

The couple's marital discord became public in 2018 when Jahan filed a case against Shami and his family, accusing them of domestic violence, attempted murder, and mental harassment. She also accused him of infidelity and not providing financial support. These allegations led to a protracted and highly publicized legal battle. Jahan had previously stated that she was forced to give up her career as a model and actress after marrying Shami, leaving her without a source of income. "I used to model and act before I got married. Shami forced me to quit my profession. He wanted me to live only a housewife's life. I loved Shami so much that I happily accepted it," Jahan said.

In response to the Calcutta High Court's order for Shami to pay ₹4 lakh monthly, Jahan expressed her gratitude but also indicated that the amount was not enough to maintain the lifestyle she and her daughter were entitled to, given Shami's income and status. Her lawyer, Imtiaz Ahmed, echoed this sentiment, stating that they would push for a higher amount during the final hearing. He suggested that the maintenance amount could be increased to ₹6 lakh, considering Jahan's initial claim of ₹7 lakh for herself and ₹3 lakh for their daughter.

The legal battle between Shami and Jahan has been ongoing since 2018, with Jahan initially seeking ₹7 lakh for herself and ₹3 lakh for their daughter as monthly interim maintenance. The courts had previously ordered Shami to pay ₹80,000 per month as interim support for their daughter. The recent High Court order revised this amount, taking into account Shami's income and financial disclosures.

While Shami has largely remained silent about the case in public, the court's directive legally binds him to make the monthly payments until a final decision is reached by the trial court. The couple, who married in 2014 and have a daughter born in 2015, have been living separately since 2018.
