"If there was no partnership, then I think our lead would have been 70-80-90 runs, which is psychologically very different from 180 run lead," Gill stated.

He noted that on a fifth-day pitch, spin could offer more control than pace, especially with the limited movement available. Shubman Gill has been in great form, having already amassed 585 runs in four Test innings. He revealed that he began focusing on his batting technique towards the end of the IPL 2025.
