The Milwaukee Brewers delivered a stunning performance against the Los Angeles Dodgers, securing a dominant 9-1 victory. The Brewers' offense exploded early, capitalizing on shaky defense and delivering key hits to build a commanding lead.

Brewers' starter Freddy Peralta outdueled Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Yamamoto struggled, failing to pitch out of the first inning. Andrew Vaughn launched a three-run homer in the first inning of the game, marking a memorable moment in his debut with the team. A throwing error by Mookie Betts allowed Isaac Collins to score. Andruw Monasterio's single brought Brice Turang home, further extending the Brewers' lead to 5-0.

The Brewers continued to add to their lead. In the fifth inning, Brice Turang's single drove in two more runs, increasing the margin to 7-0. Christian Yelich's two-run homer in the seventh inning further solidified the Brewers' advantage, making the score 9-0.

The Dodgers struggled to generate offense against Peralta, who effectively stymied their key hitters. Esteury Ruiz managed to drive in Shohei Ohtani in the eighth inning, preventing a shutout, but it was the only run the Dodgers could muster.

The Dodgers, who had won nine of their previous ten games, were swept by the Astros in a preceding weekend series where they only managed to score six runs. The team is also dealing with several injuries to key pitchers, including Tyler Glasnow, Tony Gonsolin, Roki Sasaki and Blake Snell. Clayton Kershaw and Shohei Ohtani are also recovering from injuries. Tyler Glasnow is expected to rejoin the rotation on Wednesday. Teoscar Hernández was potentially available off the bench on Monday and Tuesday. The Dodgers called up Alexis Díaz from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The Brewers, with a record of 50-40 entering the game, are contending for a Wild Card spot in the National League. The Brewers placed Rhys Hoskins on the 10-day injured list with a thumb sprain. Brandon Woodruff made a successful return after recovering from shoulder surgery. Robert Gasser is expected to begin a rehab assignment with the Brewers' Arizona Complex League affiliate next week.

Looking ahead, José Quintana is scheduled to start for the Brewers against Dustin May of the Dodgers on July 9.
