However, Callum Ferguson turned the game around with a match-winning innings, ultimately sealing the victory for Australia with a six off Irfan Pathan in the final over. Australia reached 207/6 in 19.5 overs.

Speaking after the match, Dhawan expressed pride in his team's performance. "We gave it everything out there," he said. "These are the kind of matches that define the love we have for the game. It was a great fight till the very end".

His 91* was a testament to his enduring class and ability to anchor an innings. Yusuf Pathan's explosive cameo also provided the much-needed impetus in the final overs, showcasing his power-hitting prowess.
