Tajinderpal Singh Toor clinched the top position at the third leg of the Indian Grand Prix held on August 2, 2025, at the Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana, Punjab. The veteran shot putter's gold-winning throw measured an impressive 18.93 meters.

Toor's performance at the Indian Grand Prix sets him up as a strong contender for the upcoming Inter-State Senior National Championships in Chennai, scheduled from August 20 to 24, 2025. This national championship is the final qualification event for the World Athletics Championships in September.

Tajinderpal Singh Toor has had a successful year so far, consistently finishing on the podium in various tournaments. He began 2025 by securing a gold medal at the National Games with a throw of 19.74m. Following this, he won the Indian Open Athletics Meet with a throw of 19.51m. He also secured a second-place finish at the Federation Cup with a throw of 18.77m.

The Indian Grand Prix 3 served as a crucial opportunity for athletes to qualify for the National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships. The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has mandated that athletes participate in either the Indian Open Athletics Meet or the Indian Grand Prix to be eligible for the championships.

Besides Toor's victory, other athletes also showcased impressive performances at the Indian Grand Prix. Vithya Ramraj won her respective event. Yashvir Singh won the first place with a throw of 77.79m in the Javelin throw.

Tajinderpal Singh Toor, born on November 13, 1994, has a distinguished career. He is a two-time Asian Games champion and a two-time Asian champion in both outdoor and indoor championships. He holds the national record with a throw of 21.77 m and the Asian Games record with a throw of 20.75 m. Toor is also a two-time Olympian, having represented India at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2024 Paris Olympics.
