Hong Kong international striker Michael Udebuluzor is reportedly nearing a transfer to an Estonian club, although interest from Spanish teams remains. The young forward is eager to leave his current German club, VfR Mannheim.

Udebuluzor's potential move to China League One previously collapsed after controversial remarks he made. Following a match against China in the East Asian Football Championship, Udebuluzor used a derogatory term to refer to Chinese fans, sparking a backlash on social media. Although he apologized, the incident led to the termination of his agreement with Suzhou Dongwu.

Born in Hong Kong in 2004, Michael Chibuikem Udebuluzor, who is now 21 years old, also holds Nigerian roots through his father, Cornelius Udebuluzor, who was also a striker and played several seasons in Hong Kong. Michael began his youth career with Kitchee before moving to Germany in 2018 to train at the German Football Boarding School. He later joined FC Ingolstadt 04, playing for their U-19 team and later their second team. Udebuluzor made his debut for Hong Kong's national team in September 2023 and has since become an important member of the squad.

In July 2025, Udebuluzor expressed his desire to leave VfR Mannheim, citing problems with the club and coach. He also mentioned the possibility of playing in China to be closer to his family. However, after the controversy at the East Asian Football Championship, Suzhou Dongwu terminated Udebuluzor's contract. The club announced that it had "terminated the player's reporting process to the team on July 16, and will handle the follow-up in accordance with the law, regulations and contractual agreement".

Before joining VfR Mannheim, Udebuluzor played for FC Ingolstadt 04 II, where he scored 14 goals in 23 appearances. He also made three appearances for Ingolstadt 04 in the 3. Liga. His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is between €0.3M and €0.4M.

Despite the recent setback in China, Udebuluzor's career has seen interest from various clubs. In late 2023, he attracted attention from European clubs such as FC Porto and German teams due to his performances for Hong Kong. There was also interest from clubs in China and Major League Soccer.
