With this win, NorthEast United successfully defended their title, marking their second consecutive Durand Cup win.
The final saw a dominant display from the Highlanders, although Diamond Harbour showed initial promise. Asheer Akhtar opened the scoring for NorthEast United, capitalizing on a rebound after a chaotic sequence in the box. Just before halftime, Parthib Gogoi doubled the lead with a stunning strike, curling the ball into the top corner.
The second half witnessed NorthEast United বাড়ানো their dominance. Thoi Singh extended the lead, followed by goals from Jairo Samperio, Andy Rodriguez and Alaaeddine Ajaraie. Diamond Harbour managed a consolation goal from a corner, but it wasn't enough to shift the momentum. Ajaraie's performance was particularly noteworthy, as he contributed a goal and two assists to his team's victory.
