Juventus initiated their Serie A campaign with a 2-0 victory against Parma at Allianz Stadium on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Jonathan David, making his Serie A debut, opened the scoring, followed by a late goal from Dusan Vlahovic, both assisted by Kenan Yildiz.
The first half saw both teams creating opportunities. Parma's Lovik's shot was deflected for a corner early in the 5th minute, while Juventus responded in the 13th minute with a Conceicao header, saved by Suzuki. A miscommunication between David and Yildiz in the 18th minute prevented a potential Juventus chance. Thuram's header from a set-piece in the 23rd minute went just over the bar. Before halftime, Valeri intercepted Thuram's pass to Kalulu, and Gatti deflected Kelly's shot away from goal.
Juventus began the second half with renewed energy. Gatti's shot grazed the crossbar in the 48th minute, and Yildiz shot just wide in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute, Conceicao's shot deflected off Keita and hit the post. Juventus then made a double substitution in the 57th minute, bringing on Koopmeiners and Joao Mario. In the 59th minute, Yildiz crossed the ball to David, who scored with the outside of his right foot, marking his first Serie A goal.
Juventus continued to press, with Thuram and Yildiz being denied by Parma's goalkeeper. In the 83rd minute, Andrea Cambiaso was sent off after an incident with Lovik, reducing Juventus to 10 men. However, Juventus extended their lead in the 84th minute when Yildiz assisted Vlahovic, who scored to make it 2-0. Parma's Bernabè tested Juventus' Di Gregorio in the final minutes, but the save secured the win for Juventus.
Jonathan David joined Juventus in July on a free transfer after his contract with Lille expired. He is also Canada's all-time leading scorer with 36 goals in 67 appearances. David expressed his happiness with the debut goal and emphasized his commitment to helping the team.
Kenan Yildiz has been involved in 11 goals in all competitions since the start of March, more than any other Serie A player in that time. Gleison Bremer also made a solid return after recovering from an ACL injury.
