Kuldeep Yadav orchestrated a remarkable comeback in the Asia Cup 2025, leading India to a resounding nine-wicket victory against the United Arab Emirates. After a period away from the national team, the left-arm wrist-spinner showcased his talent, claiming four wickets for a mere seven runs in just 2.1 overs. His stellar performance earned him the Player of the Match award and underscored his importance to India's campaign.

The match against UAE was a clinical display of India's bowling prowess. After winning the toss, Captain Suryakumar Yadav chose to field, a decision that proved fruitful as the Indian bowlers dismantled the UAE batting lineup. Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy struck early, restricting UAE to 41/2 in the powerplay. This was the lowest score against India in T20Is, surpassing New Zealand's previous record of 66 in Ahmedabad in 2023. Alishan Sharafu (22) and Muhammad Waseem (19) were the only batsmen to reach double figures, highlighting the extent of UAE's struggles. Kuldeep's victims included Rahul Chopra, Muhammad Waseem, and Harshit Kaushik.

In response, India chased down the target of 58 with ease, reaching 60/1 in just 4.3 overs. Abhishek Sharma set the tone with a quickfire 30 off 16 balls, while Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 20. Suryakumar Yadav finished the chase with a six. India's dominant performance resulted in their fastest-ever chase in T20 internationals, surpassing their previous best against Australia in 2017.

Kuldeep's impressive performance marked his return to T20Is after last featuring in the World Cup final. After warming the bench during the Test series in England, he seized the opportunity to showcase his skills. Kuldeep's variations and control proved difficult for the UAE batsmen to handle. Speaking after the match, Kuldeep credited his trainer, Adrian, for his improved fitness and bowling. He emphasized the importance of hitting the right length and reading the batsmen's intentions.

The victory against UAE provided India with a perfect start to their Asia Cup 2025 campaign. The team's dominant performance demonstrated their strength and preparedness for the tournament. With a strong bowling attack and a formidable batting lineup, India looks well-positioned to compete for the title.

Suryakumar Yadav praised his team's clinical performance, highlighting their energy and attitude in the field. He also jokingly addressed whether the team would receive their full match fee, given the game's brevity.
