Indian athletes showcased their dominance at the Taiwan Athletics Open 2025, securing an impressive haul of six gold medals on the opening day. The World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze event, held in Taipei, witnessed outstanding performances across various disciplines, highlighting India's growing strength in track and field.

Jyothi Yarraji led the charge by winning the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 12.99 seconds. The reigning Asian champion and national record holder continued her impressive form this season, finishing ahead of Chinese Taipei's Yuan-Kai Hsieh (13.72s) and Chen Kuei-ru (13.75s). This victory further solidifies Jyothi's position as a top contender in the event.

Tejas Shirse added another gold to India's tally in the men's 110m hurdles, clocking 13.52 seconds. Shirse demonstrated his strength and speed, pulling away from the competition in the final stretch to secure the win.

Pooja dominated the women's 1500m race, setting a new meet record of 4:11.65. She finished a remarkable 16.4 seconds ahead of the rest of the field, showcasing her exceptional endurance and speed. Her performance shattered the previous record of 4:15.81, underlining her dominance in the event.

In the relay events, both the men's and women's teams secured gold medals. The women's 4x100m relay team, consisting of Sudheeksha Vadluri, Abinaya Rajarajan, Sneha SS, and Nithya Gandhe, won with a meet record time of 44.07 seconds. Despite a slight fumble during a baton exchange, the team displayed remarkable cohesion and speed. Sudheeksha V was the only new addition to the Indian women's relay team that won the Asian title the previous week, replacing Srabani Nanda. The men's 4x100m relay team, comprising Gurindervir Singh, Animesh Kujur, Manikanta Hoblidhar, and Amlan Borgohain, also clinched gold with a time of 38.75 seconds.

Abdulla Aboobacker won gold in the triple jump with a best leap of 16.21m. Aboobacker, an Asian medalist, opened his season in style with a controlled series of jumps, securing the top spot with his best mark.

On the final day, Vithya Ramraj secured gold in the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 56.53s, her third-best performance this year. Rohit Yadav triumphed in the men's javelin throw with a distance of 74.42m. Pooja continued her impressive run, winning gold in the women's 800m final and setting a new championship record of 2:02.79s. Krishan Kumar also set a new championship record in the men's 800m final with a time of 1:48.46s. Additionally, Yashas Palaksha earned a silver medal with a personal best in the 400m hurdles.

India's outstanding performance at the Taiwan Athletics Open 2025 reflects the dedication and hard work of its athletes, as well as the country's growing prominence in the world of athletics. These victories will provide valuable ranking points and boost morale as the athletes prepare for upcoming major competitions, including the World Championships.
