Scotland cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory against Liechtenstein in their friendly match in Vaduz on Monday, June 9, 2025, with Che Adams bagging a hat-trick and George Hirst netting his first international goal. The win provided a welcome confidence boost for Steve Clarke's side after their recent defeat to Iceland.

Adams opened the scoring early in the fourth minute, pouncing on a loose ball after Lennon Miller's initial effort was blocked following a corner. The Torino forward made no mistake, lashing the ball into the roof of the net. Adams doubled his tally in the 26th minute, capitalizing on Miller's high press to win possession and wrong-foot the goalkeeper with a low shot.

Scotland continued to dominate after the break, and George Hirst extended their lead in the 48th minute. After John McGinn hit the post, Adams flicked on Anthony Ralston's cross, leaving Hirst with a simple close-range finish for his first international goal on his third cap.

The game also saw debuts for Ross Doohan, Doig, Andy Irving, Connor Barron, and Kieron Bowie, while Lennon Miller made an impressive first start, contributing to two goals. Doohan, who was called up after injuries to Angus Gunn and Robby McCrorie, had a quiet night, barely touching the ball as Scotland controlled the match.

Adams completed his hat-trick in the final moments of the game, heading home to seal the 4-0 victory. This was Scotland's first hat-trick since John McGinn's against San Marino. The win gives Scotland a much-needed boost as they prepare for crucial World Cup qualifiers in September.
