The 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup is set to kick off on Saturday, June 14, with defending champion Mexico headlining the opening day's action. The tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States and Canada, promises a month of exciting competition as teams from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean battle for regional supremacy.

Mexico, the reigning Gold Cup champion, is aiming to extend its record with a tenth title. They enter the tournament as one of the favorites, bolstered by a strong roster. Their opening match is against the Dominican Republic. Mexico finds itself in Group A, alongside Costa Rica and Suriname, setting the stage for what is expected to be a dominant performance from "El Tri."

The United States, which won the Gold Cup in 2021, is also among the top contenders. They will begin their campaign on Sunday, June 15, against Trinidad and Tobago. The USMNT has historically dominated the group stage, boasting an impressive record and consistently securing the top spot in their group. However, they will be fielding a relatively young team this year. The USMNT is in Group D, alongside Haiti and Saudi Arabia.

Canada, seeking its second Gold Cup title and first in 25 years, is considered a serious threat. They have called upon top players from Europe and are eager to make a statement. Canada is in Group B, which also includes Honduras, El Salvador, and Curacao. Their opening match is against Honduras on June 17 in Vancouver.

Panama and Jamaica, both of whom have reached multiple finals in recent years, are also teams to watch. They are in Group C, together with Guatemala and Guadeloupe.

The 2025 Gold Cup will feature 16 teams, including invited guest nation Saudi Arabia, making its tournament debut in Group D. The teams qualified through the CONCACAF Nations League or the Gold Cup Prelims. The tournament will be held across 14 stadiums in 13 cities in the United States and Canada. The venues are primarily in the Western United States to avoid scheduling conflicts with the FIFA Club World Cup.

The group stage will run from June 14 to June 24. The knockout stage will commence with the quarterfinals on June 28 and 29, followed by the semifinals on July 2. The final is scheduled for July 6 at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Matches will be broadcast on Fox Sports (FS1, FS2, and FOX) in the United States, TelevisaUnivision and TUDN in the USA-Spanish, Televisa in Mexico, OneSoccer in Canada, and ESPN and Disney+ in the Caribbean, Central, and South America.

With the FIFA World Cup 2026 on the horizon, the 2025 Gold Cup provides an opportunity for teams to fine-tune their strategies and showcase their talent on a continental stage.
