The India vs England Test series in 2025, starting on June 20th in Leeds, presents a significant opportunity for several Indian players to reach individual milestones. With the retirements of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, a new era is dawning for Indian cricket, and this series will be crucial for the team's transition. Several players are on the cusp of achieving notable feats.

Shubman Gill, the newly appointed captain, is leading this revamped Indian side. He needs just 107 runs to reach 2,000 Test runs. In his 32 Tests so far, Gill has scored 1,893 runs at an average of 35.05, including five centuries and seven half-centuries. While he aims to achieve this milestone, he'll also be looking to improve his record in England, where he has only managed 88 runs in six innings across three matches. In addition to the 2000 Test runs milestone, Gill is also 413 runs away from reaching 5000 runs in first-class cricket, having scored 4587 runs so far with 14 centuries and 16 fifties.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, the young and dynamic opener, is another player approaching a significant milestone. He is 202 runs short of reaching 2,000 Test runs. Jaiswal has had a remarkable start to his Test career, scoring 1,798 runs in 19 matches at an impressive average of 52.88, with a healthy strike rate of over 65. He has four centuries and 10 half-centuries to his name. If Jaiswal reaches the 2000-run mark in the next two Tests, he will become the fourth-fastest batter to achieve this feat in terms of matches played. Jaiswal also needs 464 runs to complete 3000 international runs. In addition to the Test milestones, Jaiswal needs 178 runs to reach 4000 runs in first-class cricket.

KL Rahul, the senior batter in the squad, is 435 runs away from completing 9,000 runs in international cricket. Rahul has played 215 international matches, scoring 8,565 runs at an average of 39.10. He has 17 centuries and 57 half-centuries in his international career.

Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper-batter and the team's vice-captain, is close to reaching 3,000 Test runs. He needs just 52 more runs to reach the milestone. In 43 Tests, Pant has scored 2,948 runs at an average of 42.11, with a high strike rate of 73.62. He has six Test centuries, including two in England, and 15 half-centuries. Pant also needs 114 runs to score 5000 runs in first-class cricket. In addition to the runs, Pant has hit 73 sixes in his Test career, and if he manages to hit 12 more sixes, he will surpass Sir Viv Richards in the list of most sixes in Test cricket.

Ravindra Jadeja, the experienced all-rounder, is another key player who is nearing a milestone. He needs 309 runs to reach 7,000 runs in international cricket. Jadeja has scored 6,691 runs in 358 international matches at an average of 32.32, with four centuries and 35 half-centuries.

Mohammed Siraj, the right-arm fast bowler, is 15 wickets away from reaching 200 international wickets. Siraj has taken 185 wickets in 96 matches across all formats, and with his impressive record in England, he is likely to achieve this milestone during the series.

Abhimanyu Easwaran needs 159 runs to reach 8000 runs in first-class cricket. Sai Sudharsan needs 43 runs to register 2000 runs in first-class cricket.

These individual milestones add an extra layer of excitement to the already highly anticipated Test series. As India embarks on this new chapter, the players will be keen to perform at their best and achieve these personal landmarks, contributing to the team's success in the process.
