Indian Women Wrestlers Dominate Under-23 Asian Championships, Securing Medals in Every Category for Decisive Victory.

The Indian women's wrestling team has achieved a historic feat at the Under-23 Asian Championships 2025, currently held in Vung Tau, Vietnam. Demonstrating exceptional skill and determination, the team has secured medals in all 10 weight categories, clinching the coveted Champion Trophy. This remarkable performance underscores India's growing prowess in women's wrestling on the international stage.

The medal haul includes an impressive collection of four gold medals, five silver medals, and one bronze medal. Priyanshi Prajapat (50kg), Reena (55kg), Shrishti (68kg), and Priya (76kg) emerged victorious in their respective weight categories, claiming the top spots on the podium. Their gold medal-winning performances were characterized by a combination of tactical brilliance, aggressive gameplay, and unwavering focus. Priyanshi Prajapat secured a 4-2 win against Munkhgerel Munkhbat from Mongolia. Reena defeated Aruuke Kadyrbek Kyzy of Kyrgyzstan by 13-4. Shrishti showed technical superiority against her Chinese opponent by winning 10-0. Priya Malik displayed total domination by winning all three matches via technical superiority.

Adding to India's impressive medal count, Neha Sharma (57kg), Pragati (62kg), Siksha (65kg), Tanvi (59kg), and Jyoti Berwal (72kg) secured silver medals. Each of these athletes displayed remarkable resilience and fighting spirit, progressing to the gold-medal bouts. Tanvi Magdum finished with three wins and one loss to claim the silver medal. Hinaben Khalifa won a bronze medal in the 53 kg category.

Beyond the outstanding performance of the women wrestlers, India also achieved success in Greco-Roman wrestling, with Sumit securing a gold medal in the 63kg category. Nitesh (97kg) and Ankit Gulia (72kg) added to the medal tally with bronze medals in their respective weight categories. In men's freestyle events, Vicky won a gold medal in the 97kg category.
