Football fans across the nation have eagerly awaited the release of the EFL Championship, League One, and League Two fixtures for the 2025/26 season. The schedules were officially revealed on Thursday, June 26th, at 12:00 PM BST, marking a significant day for clubs and supporters alike as they begin to map out their campaigns.

The 2025/26 season promises a return to thrilling competition and high stakes. The Championship will feature familiar names looking to reclaim their place in the Premier League, alongside ambitious clubs eager to make their mark. Newcomers from League One, including Birmingham City, Wrexham, and Charlton Athletic, add fresh dynamics to the division, each bringing their unique story and aspirations.

The season is set to commence with League One and League Two kicking off over the weekend of August 1st-3rd, followed by the Championship a week later, from August 8th-10th. The Championship will consist of 46 rounds of league matches which will take place across 33 weekends, 9 midweeks and 4 Bank Holidays. League One and Two will play over 33 weekends, five midweeks and eight Bank Holidays and International Breaks. The final games of the regular season are scheduled for the weekend of May 2nd and 3rd, 2026, setting the stage for the playoffs.

This year's fixture release day also included the draws for the first round of the Carabao Cup and the Vertu Trophy Group Stage, broadcast live on Sky Sports News. The Vertu Trophy Group Stage Draw took place at 2:30 PM, followed by the Carabao Cup Round One Draw at 4:30 PM. The Carabao Cup will officially begin in mid-August, while the Vertu Trophy will commence in early September.

Sky Sports will broadcast all opening EFL fixtures live, taking advantage of a loophole due to no Premier League matches clashing with the EFL's start. Usually, there is a blackout rule where matches cannot be televised from 2:25 PM to 5:25 PM on Saturdays. The televised fixtures for the first six gameweeks are expected to be confirmed by July 3rd.
