Cricket Australia (CA) has announced a massive surge in demand for tickets to India's upcoming white-ball tour of Australia in October and November 2025. The public ticket allocations for the ODI in Sydney and the T20I in Canberra have been completely sold out four months ahead of the scheduled matches. This comes on the heels of record-breaking ticket sales for the Ashes series, signaling an unprecedented level of interest in cricket down under.

The India-Australia series comprises three ODIs, commencing on October 19 in Perth, and five T20 Internationals, concluding in Brisbane on November 8. The high demand is reflected in the impressive sales figures, with over 90,000 tickets already snapped up for the eight-match series within just two weeks of the ticket window opening. Notably, the T20Is in Melbourne and Brisbane are proving particularly popular among fans.

According to Cricket Australia, a significant portion of the ticket purchases has been driven by the Indian diaspora. Over 16% of the tickets sold so far have been bought by Indian fan clubs, with the Bharat Army emerging as one of the most active groups, securing over 2,400 tickets. Fans based in India have also demonstrated strong enthusiasm, purchasing over 1,400 tickets for the series. Amit Goyal from Brissy Baniyas, an Aggarwal community in Australia, has emerged as the largest individual ticket buyer for a single match, acquiring 880 tickets for the Gabba T20I. Furthermore, the Indian Community of Gold Coast and Pakka Local fan groups have purchased over 500 tickets each for the Gold Coast and MCG T20Is, respectively.

Joel Morrison, Executive General Manager of Events & Operations at Cricket Australia, expressed his excitement about the overwhelming response from cricket fans. He noted that exhausting the public ticket allocation for the SCG ODI and Manuka Oval T20I four months prior to the series is a testament to the tremendous interest in the upcoming season. Morrison also highlighted the continued strong engagement among the Indian diaspora, building upon the record-breaking Border-Gavaskar series from the previous summer. He anticipates a fantastic atmosphere at each match, with a strong turnout of both Australian and Indian fans. Morrison encouraged fans to purchase tickets early to avoid missing out on the action, given the extreme interest in what promises to be Australia's biggest-ever summer of cricket.

Adding to the excitement surrounding the series is the possibility that it could be the final time that Indian cricket legends Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma play on Australian soil. Both players retired from T20Is after India's 2024 World Cup win and have also stepped away from Test cricket, focusing primarily on ODIs. With potentially historic goodbyes on the horizon, fans are eager to witness what could be the last Australian tour for these two icons of Indian cricket. Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg has expressed the organization's desire to give Kohli and Sharma a memorable farewell, acknowledging their incredible contribution to international cricket.
