Real Madrid secured their place at the top of Group H in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 with a dominant 3-0 victory over RB Salzburg. The match, played at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, saw standout performances from Jude Bellingham and Vinícius Júnior, who combined to unlock the Austrian side's defense.

The first half saw Real Madrid control possession and create several opportunities. Salzburg's goalkeeper, Christian Zawieschitzky, was called into action early, denying Vinícius on multiple occasions. However, in the 40th minute, Bellingham delivered a perfectly weighted through ball from inside his own half, splitting the Salzburg defense and finding Vinícius in stride. The Brazilian winger expertly controlled the pass, cut back onto his right foot, and slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

Just before halftime, Vinícius turned provider. After a deflected pass, he found himself one-on-one with Salzburg defender Joane Gadou inside the penalty box. With limited space to shoot, Vinícius displayed remarkable vision and skill, delivering a backheel pass to Federico Valverde, who was wide open just outside the box. Valverde made no mistake, firing a powerful shot past Zawieschitzky to double Real Madrid's lead.

In the second half, Salzburg attempted to mount a comeback, but their efforts were thwarted by Real Madrid's solid defense. The Austrian side created a few chances, but failed to convert them into goals. In the 84th minute, Real Madrid sealed the victory with a third goal. Trent Alexander-Arnold played a through ball from the right wing, finding substitute Gonzalo Garcia, who had just replaced Bellingham. Garcia took the ball in stride, calmly lifted it over the onrushing Zawieschitzky, and into the net.

Vinícius Júnior's performance was particularly noteworthy, earning him high praise. After facing criticism for his recent form, the Brazilian winger showcased his Ballon d'Or-worthy abilities, scoring a goal and assisting on another. He displayed his explosive pace, dazzling dribbling skills, and improved decision-making in the final third.

Bellingham's contribution was also significant. The English midfielder's vision, passing range, and work rate were on full display. He orchestrated Real Madrid's attacks, created several scoring opportunities, and played a key role in the opening goal. His performance further solidified his status as one of the world's top midfielders.

With this victory, Real Madrid will face Juventus in the round of 16. Meanwhile, RB Salzburg's defeat means they are eliminated from the competition, with Al Hilal progressing as the second team from Group H to the knockout stage, where they will face Manchester City.
