Corey Perry, a veteran forward, is set to join the Los Angeles Kings on a one-year contract. According to reports, the deal could reach $3.5 million with performance-based bonuses.

Perry, now 40 years old, is coming off a season with the Edmonton Oilers where he played in 81 regular-season games, tallying 19 goals and 11 assists. He then contributed a notable 10 goals and 4 assists in 22 playoff games during the Oilers' run to the Stanley Cup Final. Despite his efforts, Perry has faced Stanley Cup Final losses in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025.

Throughout his NHL career, Perry has played 1,392 games, ranking him fifth among active players. He has scored 448 goals (seventh among active players) and 64 playoff goals (fifth among active players).

Perry is known for his extensive time with the Anaheim Ducks, a rival of the Kings. During his 14 seasons with the Ducks, he recorded 372 goals and 776 points in 988 games. He won both the Rocket Richard and Hart Trophies in 2010-11 and was a key member of the Ducks' Stanley Cup-winning team in 2007. Since his departure from the Ducks in 2019, Perry has played for the Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens, Tampa Bay Lightning, Chicago Blackhawks, and Edmonton Oilers.

The Kings have been eliminated by the Oilers in the first round of the playoffs for the past four seasons. Perry's addition could bring a valuable veteran presence to the Kings, a quality they seemed to lack in recent playoff appearances.
