The Tuesday night game between the Milwaukee Brewers and the New York Mets at Citi Field was postponed due to evening rainshowers. The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Wednesday, July 2.

The first game of the doubleheader is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. ET/12:10 CT, and the second game will be played at its originally scheduled time of 7:10 p.m. ET/6:10 CT. Both games will be broadcast on SNY.

The Brewers will maintain their scheduled starting pitchers. Freddy Peralta will start Game 1, and Jacob Misiorowski, a 23-year-old pitching prospect, will start Game 2. For the Mets, Clay Holmes is slated to pitch in Game 1. The Mets have not yet announced who will start the second game of the doubleheader. Blade Tidwell was initially scheduled to pitch against Misiorowski in the series' second game, but the Mets will wait until after Game 1 to finalize their pitching plans.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed that Holmes would pitch Game 1 but has not yet decided on the starting pitcher for the second game.

The Mets have been struggling recently, going 3-13 since June 12, when Kodai Senga suffered a hamstring injury. They returned home after being outscored 30-4 in a three-game sweep by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Before the postponement, manager Carlos Mendoza acknowledged the team's struggles, stating, "I don't think anybody's prepared when it happens this quick, I think there's a combination of a lot of things, injuries, but again I'm not going to sit here and make excuses. Every team will go through it. We got to continue to find a way to continue to find a way to get out of it, and we will because good players".

Meanwhile, the Brewers have been performing well, going 8-2 in their last 10 games. They are currently two games behind the Cubs in the NL Central. The Brewers are also anticipating the return of Brandon Woodruff from right shoulder surgery. Woodruff, who missed the previous season, might pitch this weekend in Miami, where he last pitched in 2023.

The series is a rematch of last year's NL Wild Card Series, where the Mets narrowly avoided elimination against the Brewers. Pete Alonso hit a go-ahead home run off former Brewers closer Devin Williams in that series, which propelled the Mets to the NLCS.

The Mets have announced that fans with paid tickets for Tuesday's postponed game can use them for Game 1 on Wednesday. Fans who cannot attend the makeup game can exchange their digital ticket voucher for a ticket of comparable price and location to another Mets 2025 regular-season home game at Citi Field, excluding certain high-demand games. Additional blackout dates may apply, and ticket availability is subject to change. Fans can visit Mets.com/Rain for more information on tickets and parking.
