Raúl Jiménez propelled Mexico to a 1-0 lead over Honduras in the 2025 Gold Cup Semifinals with a remarkable goal. The match, filled with high stakes and intense rivalry, saw Mexico secure a spot in the final.

The game commenced with both teams displaying a cautious approach. The first half concluded without any goals, setting the stage for a tense second half. The breakthrough came in the 48th minute when the young Mexican talent, Gilberto Mora, showcased exceptional skill on the edge of the area. Mora delivered a precise pass to Raúl Jiménez, who then finished with a flourish, slotting the ball into the net. This goal marked Jiménez's 41st for the Mexican national team.

Mexico controlled the ball for most of the first half, but the game was tied 0-0 at halftime. Early in the second half, Gilberto Mora, a 16-year-old, made a great play to set up Raúl Jiménez for the game's first goal.

Following Jiménez's goal, Mexico focused on maintaining their lead. Honduras struggled to break down the Mexican defense, often resorting to desperate attempts that were thwarted by the solid Mexican backline. As the clock ticked down, frustration grew within the Honduran ranks, leading to minor confrontations. The referee added six minutes of stoppage time, adding to the tension. Despite Honduras's late push, Mexico stood firm, securing their passage to the Gold Cup final.

Mexico's coach, 'Vasco' Aguirre, praised his team's performance and acknowledged the efforts of Honduras and their coach, Reinaldo Rueda. Looking ahead, Mexico will face the United States in the final. The United States secured their place by defeating Guatemala 2-1, with Diego Luna scoring twice for the Americans.
