Beth Mead is setting her sights on another successful UEFA Women's Euro campaign with England, following an emotional period marked by injury and recovery. After a remarkable performance at the Euro 2022, where she was named Player of the Tournament and jointly won the Golden Boot with six goals, Mead is now aiming to become the all-time top scorer in the competition. She is currently just four goals away from the record.

However, the Lionesses are entering a "new era" as key players like Mary Earps, Fran Kirby, and Millie Bright will be missing from the Euro 2025 squad. Mead acknowledged the disappointment of their absence but expressed excitement about the opportunity for new players to step up. Keira Walsh echoed this sentiment, recognizing the significant contributions of the missing trio.

Mead's journey has been filled with challenges, including a cruciate ligament injury sustained in late 2022 that sidelined her for 11 months. Her absence was felt during the Lionesses' defeat in the later stages of the 2023 World Cup. However, she has worked hard to regain her form and fitness, making her return to the pitch shortly after the World Cup. Recently, she reassured fans after an England Euros scare, confirming "I am okay" after a late challenge in a match against Jamaica. She even managed to score the final goal in that game.

Now 30 years old, Mead's contributions to English football have been widely recognized. Beyond her international achievements, she has also excelled in the Women's Super League (WSL), playing as a forward for Arsenal. Mead holds the record for all-time most assists in the WSL. In the 2021-22 season, she was nominated for WSL Player of the Season. She has also won the WSL title with Arsenal.

With the Euros approaching, Mead is eager to contribute to the team's success. She recognizes the increased competitiveness of the tournament but is excited about the new group of players and the chance to achieve something special. The Lionesses will commence their Euro 2025 campaign in Switzerland, with their first match scheduled against France.
