Chelsea and Palmeiras faced off in the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The match kicked off at 9pm local time (01:00 GMT, July 5 or 2am BST).

Chelsea entered the match after a hard-fought 4-1 victory over Benfica in the round of 16, a game that included a near two-hour weather delay. Palmeiras reached the quarter-finals after a 1-0 victory against fellow Brazilians Botafogo.

The winner of this match will face Fluminense in the semi-finals. Fluminense is set to face Al-Hilal in the first quarterfinal of the day. Other quarterfinal matches include Real Madrid against Borussia Dortmund and PSG against Bayern Munich.

The game is available to watch and stream online via DAZN, which is broadcasting all Club World Cup games for free globally. A free DAZN account is required to watch the game.

In early team news, Chelsea's new signing Joao Pedro, who completed a £60m transfer from Brighton, could be handed his debut. However, Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia is a doubt. Palmeiras has Estevao available, but Gustavo Gomez is unavailable after being sent off in extra time in the last 16.

In the early minutes of the game, Palmeiras won a corner, but Chelsea cleared the danger. Cole Palmer had a shot on target for Chelsea, which was saved by Palmeiras keeper Weverton.
