Inspired by Shubman Gill's performance in the ongoing Test match against England, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi is aiming high after his record-breaking century in a Youth ODI against England U-19. The young cricketer smashed the fastest century in Youth ODIs, reaching the milestone in just 52 balls. Now, he has set his sights on an even bigger target: a double century in the next match.

Suryavanshi's record-breaking innings came in the fourth Youth ODI against England U-19 in Worcester. He scored a remarkable 143 runs off 78 deliveries, which included 13 boundaries and 10 sixes. This helped India U-19 to a strong total and further solidified their lead in the series.

In a post-match interview, Suryavanshi revealed that he draws inspiration from Shubman Gill, the India Test captain. He watched Gill's innings at Edgbaston, where Gill scored twin centuries of 269 and 161 in the second Test against England. Suryavanshi was particularly impressed by Gill's hunger for runs and his ability to keep the team moving forward even after reaching individual milestones. "I got a lot of inspiration from him because I saw the game. Even after scoring 100 and 200, he kept at it and took the team forward," Suryavanshi said.

"I will try to make 200 in the next match," Suryavanshi declared, expressing his ambition to emulate Gill's dedication and impact on the game. He also stated his intention to bat for the full 50 overs in the next game, focusing on maximizing his contribution to the team's success. "Next time, I will try to play full fifty overs. The more I make runs, the better it will be for my team," he added.

Suryavanshi, however, expressed some regret about his dismissal in the match against England U-19. He felt he could have batted longer and contributed even more to the team's total. "I could have batted a bit longer because I had a lot of time. After that (his dismissal), there were 20 overs left. So, I could have made it longer," Suryavanshi said. He admitted that he got out to a shot where he didn't give his 100%.

Despite his disappointment, Suryavanshi was unaware of the record he had broken until his team manager, Ankit sir, informed him. "I didn't know that I had created a record after making 100," he said. "Our team manager Ankit sir told me that I have created a record. Everyone congratulated me".

Vaibhav's achievement is not an isolated incident. Earlier in the year, he became the youngest player to score a T20 century and also set the record for the fastest century by an Indian in the IPL. Last year, he also scored the second-fastest century in Men's Youth Tests, hitting 100 in just 56 balls against Australia U19.
