Amanda Anisimova ended Linda Noskova's hopes for a Czech three-peat at Wimbledon with a hard-fought victory, reaching the quarterfinals for the second time in her career. The American, seeded No. 13, overcame a determined Noskova in a three-set battle, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4.

Anisimova demonstrated her growing prowess on grass, securing her tenth win on the surface this season. Her impressive run includes a final appearance at Queen's Club and a quarterfinal showing in Berlin. At this year's Wimbledon, she started strong, crushing Putintseva 6-0, 6-0 in just 45 minutes, and then continued her winning streak against Zarazua and Galfi.

The match against Noskova proved to be a challenging encounter. Anisimova dominated the first set, but faced a resilient Noskova in the second. After a service break at 5-5, Noskova leveled the match. Anisimova found herself trailing 3-1 in the final set but displayed remarkable resilience, winning five of the last six games to secure the victory.

Anisimova's journey to the quarterfinals marks a significant comeback after a break from tennis in 2023 due to burnout and mental health concerns. After falling to world No. 442, she has shown incredible determination in her return. Her performance at Wimbledon guarantees her a rise in the rankings and is projected to reach a new career-high of world No. 8 after the tournament.

Overcoming challenges that once made it "unbearable" for her to be at tennis tournaments, Anisimova expressed her emotions on the court after the match. In a post-match interview, she shared her excitement and pride, acknowledging the tough battle against Noskova. "It's amazing to be back here," she said. "Honestly coming back after last year, playing in qualies, I didn't expect to be in the quarter-finals here again. I'm so excited and proud of myself and I'm looking forward to another challenge".

With this victory, Anisimova is set to break into the top 10 and holds the most grass-court wins this season.
