This edition marks the first with an expanded format, featuring 32 teams instead of the previous 7. The tournament is structured with a group stage, where 32 teams are divided into eight groups of four, followed by a knockout stage. The top two teams from each group advance to the round of 16, then the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finally, the final. There is no third-place play-off.

Chelsea qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 as one of the winners of the UEFA Champions League, having won the title in 2021. They secured their place in the semi-finals after navigating through the group stage and defeating Benfica. In the semi-final, Chelsea will face Fluminense.

The winners of these semi-final clashes will advance to the final on July 13.

DAZN is the official broadcaster for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, providing live streaming of all 63 matches. In the UK, coverage will be available on DAZN and Channel 5. DAZN is making all matches available for free via the DAZN App, which can be accessed on smart TVs, phones, tablets, streaming devices, game consoles, and web browsers.

The tournament features a total of 32 teams from six confederations. These teams include:

  • From Europe (UEFA): Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, Porto, Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, Juventus, Atlético Madrid, and Red Bull Salzburg.
  • Other notable qualified teams: Flamengo, Palmeiras, Al-Hilal, Urawa Red Diamonds, Auckland City, and others.

The tournament is taking place in 11 cities across the United States: Atlanta, Cincinnati, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York/New Jersey, Orlando, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. The venues include a mix of soccer-specific stadiums and NFL venues, such as MetLife Stadium, which will host the final.
