Tottenham Hotspur has officially announced the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United. The 24-year-old Ghanaian international has agreed to a six-year contract with the North London club, marking one of the most exciting acquisitions of the summer for Spurs. While the exact fee remains undisclosed by West Ham, reports suggest the transfer is worth £54.5 million. Kudus will wear the number 20 shirt for Tottenham.

Kudus expressed his enthusiasm about joining Tottenham, citing the project and the opportunity to develop under the guidance of manager Thomas Frank as key factors in his decision. He noted Frank's track record of nurturing talent into great players as a significant draw.

Before joining Tottenham, Kudus spent two years with West Ham, making 80 appearances and scoring 19 goals. In the Premier League, he contributed 25 goals in 65 appearances. Prior to his time in England, Kudus played for Ajax in the Netherlands, where he scored 27 goals and provided 12 assists in 87 matches. He also played for Nordsjaelland in Denmark, making 57 senior appearances and scoring 14 times.

Kudus is known for his dribbling skills, flair, and eye for goal. During the 2023/24 Premier League season, he completed 117 dribbles, more than any other player in the division. However, he has also faced criticism for his consistency and attitude.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank is looking forward to incorporating Kudus into his system, hoping that the Ghanaian international can provide the creative spark to unlock defenses and excite the fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Kudus is the fifth player to join Tottenham this summer, following the arrivals of Mathys Tel, Kevin Danso, Luka Vuskovic and Kota Takai.

Kudus's career began in Ghana with Strong Tower FC and the Right to Dream Academy. He has represented Ghana at the U-20 level and has 42 senior caps with 12 goals. He played for Ghana at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, scoring twice in the group stage, and at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
