Chelsea's captain, Reece James, has expressed unwavering confidence in his team's ability to overcome Paris St Germain in the Club World Cup final. Despite acknowledging PSG as a formidable opponent and the favorites, James believes Chelsea possesses the quality and determination to secure victory.

The Club World Cup final, set to take place on Sunday in New York, pits Chelsea against a PSG side on the verge of winning five trophies, already holding the Champions League title and three domestic trophies. PSG's dominant form includes a 4-0 thrashing of Real Madrid in the semi-final, echoing their 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League final.

However, James remains unfazed by PSG's reputation. The 25-year-old right-back emphasized that past results and external expectations hold little significance for Chelsea. He asserted that Chelsea has surprised many and is fully prepared to challenge PSG. "This game is a super high-level game," James stated. "They are one of the hottest teams in the world at the moment. They are down as strong favorites...but this doesn't mean much to me and I don't care, to be honest, that everyone is 'bigging up' our opposition".

James highlighted the team's progress and determination to win, stating, "We've come a long way on our journey from where we started. We are preparing right and going there to win". He believes Chelsea will compete "toe-to-toe" with PSG, dismissing the relevance of statistics, data, and pre-match predictions.

Adding to the positive outlook, James has declared himself fully fit for the final. He clarified his absence from the quarter-final win over Palmeiras, stating that it was not due to injury. This clarification puts to rest any concerns about his availability and strengthens Chelsea's lineup for the crucial match.

The captain's confident statements reflect the team's mindset ahead of the final. Chelsea's ambition to lift the trophy is clear, and James' leadership is expected to play a vital role in motivating the squad.
