KL Rahul has etched his name in the history books at Lord's, achieving a remarkable feat that no other Indian has accomplished in nearly three decades. During the third Test between India and England, Rahul scored his second century at the iconic venue. This accomplishment makes him only the second Indian cricketer, after Dilip Vengsarkar, to score multiple Test centuries at Lord's.

Rahul's masterful century on Day 3 of the Test was a display of patience and poise. He reached his hundred off 176 balls, with his innings including 11 fours. Rahul's innings was crucial in holding India's innings together as wickets fell around him. Before Rahul, Dilip Vengsarkar was the only Indian to achieve this feat, having scored three centuries at Lord's. Vengsarkar's consistent performance at the venue earned him the nickname "Lord of Lord's".

With this century, Rahul also becomes the first Asian opener to hit multiple tons in England. His previous century at Lord's was in 2021, when he scored 129. That innings was instrumental in India's 151-run victory. This is Rahul's 10th Test century overall and his fourth in England. He also holds the record for the most centuries by an Indian opener in England.

Throughout the innings, Rahul demonstrated his experience and class. After India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal early, Rahul partnered with Karun Nair for a 61-run stand. Following Shubman Gill's dismissal, Rahul rebuilt the innings with Rishabh Pant, adding 141 runs. Rahul's innings helped India reach a respectable total of 364.

Several other Indian batsmen have scored centuries at Lord's, including Vinoo Mankad, Gundappa Viswanath, Ravi Shastri, Mohammad Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly, Ajit Agarkar, Rahul Dravid, and Ajinkya Rahane. However, only Vengsarkar and now Rahul have multiple centuries at the ground. Rahul is also the fourth visiting opener to score multiple Test hundreds at Lord's, joining Bill Brown, Gordon Greenidge, and Graeme Smith.

This century further solidifies Rahul's reputation as a fine player in English conditions. In the ongoing series, he has shown his experience and has been a key factor for India. Rahul has surpassed 3,500 runs in Test cricket, with 10 centuries and 18 half-centuries.
