Madrid, a city synonymous with Real Madrid, showed its unwavering support for the Spanish national team, La Roja, during the Euro 2024 final, despite the scorching heat. While the capital is known for its fervent club football following, the passion for the national team was palpable as fans gathered in various locations to roar on La Roja.

The Parque de Berlín transformed into a giant, open-air stadium, offering Madridistas who couldn't travel to Basel a chance to experience the historic final against England together. A massive screen broadcasted the match, creating an electrifying atmosphere where fans clad in the national team's colors united to cheer on Montse Tomé's team. Entry was free, requiring only a national team shirt and a fervent desire to support Spain in the momentous final.

Other iconic locations in Madrid, such as the Plaza de Colón and Plaza de Cibeles, also became hubs of activity as fans flocked to public viewing areas. Chants and car horns echoed through the streets as the final whistle blew, with ecstatic supporters celebrating Spain's hard-fought 2-1 victory over England. The win marked Spain's fourth European Championship title.

Even though Madrid is home to Real Madrid, one of the most widely supported clubs in the world, the city wholeheartedly embraced La Roja. While some Real Madrid fans may also support other national teams like Germany or Portugal, the Euro 2024 final saw many Madridistas putting club rivalries aside to rally behind their nation.

The victory parade on Monday saw the Spanish team arrive at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas airport and then travel through the streets of Madrid to celebrate with the fans. Thousands lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the players and the trophy. The team also met with the Spanish Prime Minister and were greeted by King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, and their daughters. The celebrations culminated at the Plaza de Cibeles, where the players shared their triumph with the jubilant crowd.

The display of national pride in Madrid underscores the unifying power of football. Despite club allegiances, the city's inhabitants demonstrated their ability to come together and support La Roja, showcasing a collective desire for national success. The scenes of jubilation in Madrid mirrored those in other cities across Spain, highlighting the significance of the Euro 2024 victory for the entire nation.
