Finland emerged victorious in their matchup against Canada at the World Juniors Summer Showcase, securing a 6-3 win. The game, held on July 30, 2025, showcased a strong performance from the Finnish team.

Canada started strong, with Porter Martone scoring the first goal, assisted by Kashawn Aitcheson. However, Finland quickly responded, with Atte Joki scoring less than two minutes later, assisted by Onni Kalto and Niklas Kykyri. Finland then took the lead, scoring two more goals before the end of the first period. Kalto scored the second goal, assisted by Joki, and Aatos Koivu scored on the power play, assisted by Daniel Nieminen and Kasper Pikkarainen, making it 3-1.

The second period was quieter, with no goals scored. In the third period, Finland extended their lead with another goal, making it 4-1. Canada managed to find the back of the net again, but Finland responded with two more goals. Canada scored once more, but it wasn't enough to close the gap, and Finland ultimately won the game 6-3.

Kim Saarinen started in net for Finland, while Carter George was in goal for Canada. Jack Ivankovic took over in the net for Canada in the third period.

The World Junior Summer Showcase is an evaluation for athletes seeking to make their respective national teams for the 2026 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship, which will take place from December 26, 2025, through January 5, 2026, in Saint Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota. The tournament features teams from the U.S., Canada, Finland, and Sweden. 44 players were invited to Canada's World Junior Summer Showcase and will participate in practices, scrimmages, and exhibition games against Finland, Sweden, and the United States.
