The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India U19 squad for the upcoming tour of Australia in September 2025. Ayush Mhatre will captain the team, and Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old sensation, has retained his spot in the squad. The team is scheduled to play three one-day matches and two multi-day games against the Australian U19 side.

Ayush Mhatre, a Mumbai batter and a Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star, will continue to lead the India U19 team after recently captaining the side in England. In the England tour, India clinched the Youth One-Day series 3-2, while the two-match Test series ended in a draw. Mhatre was the standout performer in the Youth Test series, amassing 340 runs in four innings, including two centuries and a fifty. His leadership and batting prowess will be crucial for India in the upcoming Australia tour.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, known for his impressive performances in England, is also included in the squad. The 14-year-old had a sensational tour of England, where he scored the fastest century in Youth ODI history. He also scored 143 runs in just 78 deliveries in one of the matches. Suryavanshi's inclusion adds firepower to the Indian batting lineup.

Vihaan Malhotra has been appointed as the vice-captain for the Australia tour. He was also a consistent contributor on the England tour, scoring 243 runs in ODIs and 277 runs in Tests. Malhotra's presence further strengthens the team's batting.

Several players from the England tour have retained their places in the squad, including Rahul Kumar, Harvansh Singh, R.S. Ambrish, Kanishk Chouhan, Henil Patel, D. Deepesh, Anmoljeet Singh, and Naman Pushpak. The squad also includes Abhigyan Kundu and Harvansh Singh as wicketkeepers. The new inclusions in the squad are Kishan Kumar, Udhav Mohan, and Aman Chauhan. Khilan Patel, who missed the England tour due to a stress reaction in his right leg, has also returned to the squad. D. Deepesh and Naman Pushpak, who were brought in as injury replacements in England, have now earned spots in the main squad for Australia.

The series will begin on September 21, with all three one-day matches to be held at Norths. The first multi-day match will also be played at Norths from September 30 to October 3. The second multi-day game will be played in Mackay from October 7 to 10.

The India U19 squad: Ayush Mhatre (C), Vihaan Malhotra (VC), Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Vedant Trivedi, Rahul Kumar, Abhigyan Kundu (WK), Harvansh Singh (WK), R S Ambrish, Kanishk Chouhan, Naman Pushpak, Henil Patel, D Deepesh, Kishan Kumar, Anmoljeet Singh, Khilan Patel, Udhav Mohan, Aman Chauhan.
