Mohamed Salah's Historic Achievement: Third PFA Men's Player of the Year Award Confirms Liverpool Star's Dominance.

Mohamed Salah has etched his name in Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Awards history, securing the Men's Player of the Year award for a record third time. The announcement was made at a ceremony in Manchester on Tuesday evening. This latest triumph adds to his previous successes in the 2017-18 and 2021-22 seasons.

The Egyptian forward's exceptional performances propelled Liverpool to Premier League glory. Salah's contributions included a remarkable 29 goals in 38 appearances. The 33-year-old beat out strong competition from fellow Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister, as well as Cole Palmer, Alexander Isak, Bruno Fernandes, and Declan Rice.

Salah's outstanding season also saw him recognized with the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year and Premier League Player of the Season awards. He recorded 34 goals and 23 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions. In the league, he equaled the competition's all-time record with 47 goal involvements, earning him another Golden Boot and Playmaker prize.

Several other Liverpool players have previously won the PFA Men's Player of the Year award, including Terry McDermott, Sir Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, John Barnes, Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez, and Virgil van Dijk.

In other awards, Mariona Caldentey of Arsenal won the PFA Women's Player of the Year award. Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers won the PFA Men's Young Player of the Year award, while Arsenal's Olivia Smith won the PFA Women's Young Player of the Year award. James Trafford, formerly of Burnley and now with Manchester City, was named the PFA Championship Player of the Year. Special merit awards were given to former England manager Sir Gareth Southgate and USA head coach Emma Hayes.

The PFA Premier League Team of the Year was also announced: Matz Sels (Nott Forest), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), Milos Kerkez (Bournemouth), William Saliba (Arsenal), Gabriel Magalhaes (Arsenal), Declan Rice (Arsenal), Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool), Alexis Mac Allister (Liverpool), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Alexander Isak (Newcastle), Chris Wood (Nott Forest).
