Eberechi Eze is on the verge of becoming an Arsenal player, with a medical scheduled for today, August 22, 2025. The Gunners have reportedly agreed to a deal worth £67.5 million with Crystal Palace for the England international, consisting of a guaranteed £60 million plus £7.5 million in add-ons.

Arsenal's move for Eze came as a surprise to many, as Tottenham Hotspur were also in talks to sign the player. However, Arsenal swooped in and hijacked the deal, much to the frustration of their North London rivals. The transfer is expected to be completed in the coming days, subject to Eze passing his medical.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has all but confirmed Eze's departure, stating that the player has played his last game for the club. Glasner expressed his disappointment at losing Eze, especially after the player pulled out of Crystal Palace's Conference League play-off match against Fredrikstad.

The signing of Eze is seen as a major coup for Arsenal, who are looking to strengthen their squad in their pursuit of the Premier League title. Eze is expected to add creativity and flair to the Gunners' attack, and his arrival could be timely given Kai Havertz's recent injury. Former Arsenal star Paul Merson believes Eze has the "X-factor" and can help Arsenal win the Premier League.

With Eze's arrival seemingly imminent, Arsenal may now turn their attention to outgoings. Several players have been linked with moves away from the Emirates, including Oleksandr Zinchenko, Albert Sambi Lokonga, and Jakub Kiwior. Goalkeeper Karl Hein is also reportedly close to joining Werder Bremen.

Arsenal have also been linked with other players, including Lyon's Habib Diarra and Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson. However, it remains to be seen whether the Gunners will make any further additions to their squad before the transfer window closes.

In other Premier League news, teams are gearing up for the second round of fixtures in the 2025-26 season. Chelsea will visit West Ham. Manchester United will face Fulham as they chase their first win of the Premier League season. Liverpool will play at Anfield.
