Leeds United have reportedly reached an agreement with Leicester City for the transfer of defender James Justin. The deal is said to be worth around £10 million. Justin is expected to undergo a medical at Leeds' Thorp Arch training ground before finalizing the move, potentially becoming their tenth signing of the summer transfer window.

Leeds manager Daniel Farke has been keen to bolster his defensive options, and Justin has been a target for the club throughout the summer. The need for reinforcements was further highlighted after Leeds' recent 5-0 defeat to Arsenal. While Justin's arrival won't single-handedly prevent similar defeats, his experience and versatility are expected to be valuable assets to the team.

James Justin, born on February 23, 1998, is a 27-year-old English professional footballer who primarily plays as a full-back. He began his career at Luton Town, progressing through their academy and making his professional debut in 2016. In 2019, he joined Leicester City for a reported club-record fee for Luton Town of around £8 million. Justin has also represented England at various youth levels and made his debut for the senior team in May 2022.

Justin's versatility is a key attribute, as he can play in multiple positions across the defense. He has predominantly played as a center-back but can also cover at right-back. This adaptability will provide Farke with tactical flexibility and cover in different areas of the defense.

Throughout his career with Leicester City, Justin has made nearly 100 Premier League appearances. Last season, he played in 36 Premier League games, contributing two goals and two assists. His experience in the top flight will be crucial for Leeds as they aim to maintain their Premier League status. Leeds United returned to the Premier League this season and have been actively strengthening their squad. In addition to Justin, they have already added players such as Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Leeds' interest in Justin was briefly disrupted when he picked up an injury in a recent game. However, after a positive assessment of the injury, Leeds decided to proceed with the transfer. Some reports suggest the initial fee is £8 million plus £2 million in add-ons.

With the transfer window closing soon, Leeds are looking to finalize the deal quickly. The addition of Justin is expected to provide much-needed experience and stability to their defense as they navigate their return to the Premier League.
