Day 1 of the Kitchener Rangers' 2025 Training Camp is in the books, and the excitement is palpable as fans and analysts alike dissect the initial performances and look ahead to the upcoming season. The camp, held at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex, officially began on Monday, August 25th, 2025, with the 43-man roster split into Team Blue and Team White for a scrimmage.

The scrimmages, open to the public, provided a first glimpse of what the Rangers might offer this season. A noticeable high pace of play and physicality indicated that players were eager to make a positive first impression. Team Blue ultimately secured an 8-4 victory over Team White.

Cameron Reid, drafted by the Nashville Predators, immediately stood out. Reid demonstrated control while on the ice for Team Blue, consistently making sound decisions when recovering the puck. His poise and decision-making were evident in his ability to evade forechecks, dictate the pace, and deliver breakout passes.

Several players from Cambridge are also competing for roster spots at the OHL training camps. Ryder Roberson and Weston Cameron, from the Cambridge RedHawks, are among those attending the Kitchener Rangers camp.

Notably absent from the on-ice action were Carson Campbell, Luke Ellinas, and Andrew Vermeulen.

The Rangers have also announced the signing of Oscar Hemming to a Standard Player Agreement. Hemming, a first-round pick in the 2025 OHL Import Draft, is a highly regarded Finnish player known for his size, physicality, hockey sense, and scoring ability. General Manager Mike McKenzie expressed his excitement about welcoming Hemming to the team. Hemming has represented Finland at the U17 and U18 levels, most recently competing in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

Looking ahead, the Rangers will host a Preseason Showcase from August 29th to 31st, featuring the Brantford Bulldogs, Oshawa Generals, Saginaw Spirit, and the Rangers themselves. Tickets are $5, with proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish Canada. The Showcase will conclude with Fan Fest on August 31st, offering fans the chance to meet players and participate in various activities.

Single game tickets for the 2025/26 season went on sale August 25th.
