Club Brugge and Rangers face off in a crucial Champions League play-off second leg, while Manchester United travel to Grimsby Town for a Carabao Cup second-round tie.

Club Brugge v Rangers

Rangers face a daunting task as they travel to Belgium to take on Club Brugge in the second leg of their Champions League play-off. The Scottish side suffered a 3-1 defeat at Ibrox in the first leg, leaving them with a significant deficit to overcome. Manager Russell Martin has made changes to the starting lineup from the weekend's match against St Mirren, with Nasser Djiga and Danilo coming into the team. Jack Butland starts in goal, with a back four of Max Aarons, John Souttar, Nasser Djiga and Jayden Meghoma. Joe Rothwell, Lyall Cameron and Thelo Aasgaard are in midfield, while Danilo leads the line with Oliver Antman and Djeidi Gassama in support. A leaked lineup suggests that Nico Raskin will start on the bench. Martin insists the tie is far from over and that his side can reach the League Phase of the competition. A big win in Belgium would pave the way to a string of glamour games and huge earnings.

Grimsby Town v Manchester United

Manchester United are looking to kickstart their season with a win against Grimsby Town in the second round of the Carabao Cup. The Red Devils have had a disappointing start to the Premier League season, with one draw and one loss in their opening two games. They enter the competition at this stage for the first time since 2014, due to failing to qualify for Europe this season. Manager Ruben Amorim is expected to rotate the squad, with summer signing Benjamin Sesko potentially making his first start. Kobbie Mainoo is another player who could be given his first start of the new season. The starting XI includes Onana; Fredricson, Maguire, Heaven; Dalot, Mainoo, Ugarte, Dorgu; Amad, Cunha; Sesko.

Grimsby Town, who play in League Two, are unbeaten in all competitions this season. They earned the right to face United with a 3-1 win over Shrewsbury Town in the last round and sit fourth in League Two. The Mariners have a good head-to-head record against United, losing only two of their last 17 encounters.

The game is being broadcast live on ITV 1 and Sky Sports Football in the UK.
