The highly anticipated draw for the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League group phase has concluded, revealing the matchups for the revamped competition. The draw, which took place in Monaco, determined the fate of the 36 participating teams as they embark on their journey towards the final in Budapest.

This season marks the second year of the new format, moving away from the traditional eight groups to a single league table. Each team will play eight matches in the league phase: four at home and four away. These matches will be against two different opponents from each of the four pots, ensuring a diverse and challenging set of fixtures for every club. To maintain fairness, teams from the same country cannot face each other in this initial phase. However, a team can play a maximum of two clubs from the same nation.

The teams were divided into four pots based on their UEFA club coefficient rankings. Pot 1 consisted of the highest-ranked teams, including the Champions League titleholder, Paris Saint-Germain, alongside other powerhouses like Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Inter, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund. The remaining teams were then distributed into Pots 2, 3, and 4 based on their coefficient.

Some of the notable draws include Manchester City facing Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. Liverpool will have to contend with Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid. Chelsea is set to clash with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Napoli.

The group-stage matches are scheduled to take place between September and January. The top eight teams from the 36-team league table will automatically advance to the last 16. Teams ranked 9th to 24th will compete in a playoff round to secure their place in the knockout stage. The teams finishing in the 25th to 36th positions will be eliminated from the competition.

The final will be held at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest on May 30, 2026.
