The Indian men's hockey team is set to begin their Asia Cup 2025 campaign against China on August 29, 2025, in Rajgir, Bihar. This tournament holds significant importance for India as it offers a direct route to the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026, to be held in Belgium and the Netherlands.

The Asia Cup 2025 features eight teams divided into two pools. India is placed in Pool A alongside Japan, China, and Kazakhstan. Pool B consists of South Korea, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Chinese Taipei. Pakistan and Oman were originally slated to participate but withdrew, with Bangladesh and Kazakhstan named as replacements. The top two teams from each pool will advance to the Super 4s stage, followed by the final on September 7.

India, led by Harmanpreet Singh, aims to secure their fourth Asia Cup title. The team includes experienced players such as Manpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Mandeep Singh, and Amit Rohidas. The winner of the Asia Cup 2025 will automatically qualify for the 2026 World Cup, while the teams finishing second through sixth will have another chance through the World Cup Qualifiers in February-March 2026.

Matches will be telecast on Sony Sports Network and live-streamed on the SonyLiv app and website in India.

India's Schedule: * August 29, 3:00 PM IST: India vs China * August 31, 3:00 PM IST: Japan vs India * September 1, 7:30 PM IST: India vs Kazakhstan
