Mikel Arteta has signaled his confidence in Eberechi Eze, anticipating a significant impact from the playmaker as he potentially makes his Arsenal debut against Liverpool. The Gunners are set to clash with Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday in a high-stakes Premier League match, and Eze, who recently joined Arsenal from Crystal Palace for a reported £67.5 million, is in line to feature.

Arteta expressed his belief that Eze, with his experience and flair, will relish the opportunity to play at Anfield. "He's played there many times," Arteta noted, adding, "I think he's the type of player that loves those scenarios and those moments". The Arsenal manager also highlighted the importance of allowing Eze the freedom to express his qualities on the pitch, indicating that the team will adapt to integrate him effectively. “But especially, making sure that he has the freedom and the capacity to express his quality,” Arteta said. “I'm very confident that he's played in the League so many years. We're adapting to his qualities and making sure that we put him in the right positions as often as possible".

Eze's arrival at Arsenal follows a summer transfer window where the club has been active in reinforcing its squad. Other notable acquisitions include Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres. However, to balance the books, Arsenal may need to offload some players, with Jakub Kiwior potentially heading to Porto.

Arsenal's current injury situation could further enhance Eze's chances of making an immediate impact. With Bukayo Saka ruled out with a hamstring injury and Martin Odegaard a major doubt due to a shoulder problem, Eze could be handed a starting role. "With the head coach also confirming Martin Odegaard is a major doubt heading into the Anfield assignment, there's surely a high chance we'll be taking in Eze's debut this weekend".

Despite the potential absence of key players, Arteta remains optimistic about his team's attacking options. He dismissed any suggestions that Gabriel Martinelli might leave the club, emphasizing the Brazilian's importance to the team. "I think Gabi has been a super important player for us and he's going to remain very, very, very important," Arteta affirmed. He also noted the increased competition for places in the squad, stating, "The fact that we have options with different qualities, that's going to fulfil what we want, because every opponent is going to require different things".

Looking ahead to the match against Liverpool, both teams have enjoyed a strong start to the season, making this encounter an early test of their title credentials. Liverpool, under Arne Slot, are aiming to continue their impressive scoring record at Anfield. However, Arsenal, who have a strong defensive record this season, will be keen to end their long wait for a Premier League victory at Anfield.

Historically, Liverpool have dominated this fixture, but Arsenal have shown resilience in recent encounters. A win for either side would serve as a significant statement of intent in this early stage of the Premier League season. All eyes will be on Eberechi Eze, as he looks to justify Arteta's faith and make a memorable debut for Arsenal at Anfield.
