As the summer transfer window nears its frantic conclusion, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Crystal Palace are at the center of some potentially significant deals. Here's a breakdown of the latest developments:

Liverpool's Pursuit of Alexander Isak

Liverpool are reportedly intensifying their efforts to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak. The Reds are preparing a fresh offer, potentially a British-record bid of £130 million, to tempt Newcastle into selling the Swedish international. Isak has reportedly expressed his desire to leave Newcastle, and Liverpool have been long-term admirers of the forward.

Newcastle, however, have been firm in their stance that Isak is not for sale. However, the Magpies are reportedly on the verge of signing Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart, which could potentially pave the way for Isak's exit. Liverpool may need to increase their offer to over £120 million to secure Isak's services.

Isak has reportedly broken his silence on the transfer saga, claiming that Newcastle have broken promises made to him.

Arsenal Closing In on Piero Hincapie

Arsenal are reportedly close to securing the services of Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie. The Gunners have reportedly agreed to a season-long loan deal with an option to buy the Ecuador international for £45 million. Hincapie has been granted permission to travel for a medical.

The deal is expected to accelerate Jakub Kiwior's departure from Arsenal, with Porto reportedly close to signing the Polish international on loan with an obligation to buy for £24 million. Hincapie, a versatile left-footed defender who can play at center-back or left-back, has reportedly agreed personal terms with Arsenal on a five-year contract if the option to buy is triggered.

Arsenal have made a number of additions this summer, including Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Cristhian Mosquera, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres.

Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi in Demand

Liverpool are also reportedly interested in signing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. However, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has publicly stated his desire to keep Guehi, insisting that it would be difficult to find a suitable replacement. Glasner has implied that Crystal Palace is not in a position to sell Marc Guehi.

Guehi has entered the final year of his contract, and Palace may be tempted to cash in on him rather than risk losing him for free next summer. Guehi is understood to be open to joining Liverpool. Liverpool are reportedly prepared to pay over £30 million for Guehi. However, talks have reportedly stalled over valuation, with Palace quoting £45 million while Liverpool are unwilling to go above £35 million.
