Indian junior badminton players are making waves at the Late Sushant Chipalkatti India Junior International Grand Prix badminton tournament, with several impressive performances that have led to semi-final berths and assured medals.

In the women's singles, unseeded Diksha Sudhakar pulled off a stunning upset against ninth seed Pimchanok Sutthiviriyakul of Thailand to advance to the semi-finals. Sudhakar showcased her resilience and skill, winning the match 21-11, 19-21, 21-9. Her victory was one of the major highlights of the tournament, demonstrating the depth of talent in the Indian junior badminton scene.

Adding to the strong showing in women's singles, Dianka Waldia also secured a place in the semi-finals after a hard-fought win against her compatriot Rishika Nandi. Waldia emerged victorious with a score of 21-9, 13-21, 21-12. However, in another quarterfinal match, Vennala Kalagotla was defeated by Japan's Yurika Nagafuchi 21-15, 22-20.

The mixed doubles category has been particularly successful for India, with two Indian pairs set to compete in the final, guaranteeing a gold medal for the host nation. C. Lalramsanga and Taarini Suri progressed to the final by defeating Japan's Shuji Sawada and Aoi Banno in a closely contested match with scores of 19-21, 21-12, 21-13. Vansh Dev and Shravani Walekar also secured their place in the final after a comeback victory against compatriots Bornil Aakash Changmai and Zenith Abbigail, with the scores reading 16-21, 21-13, 21-19.

In women's doubles, Aanya Bisht and Angel Punera displayed exceptional teamwork and determination to overcome Japan's Anri Yamanaka and Sona Yonemoto in a thrilling match that lasted 1 hour and 22 minutes. The Indian duo won with scores of 21-19, 22-24, 21-15 and are now set to face Japan's fifth seeds, Aoi Banno and Yuzu Ueno, in the final.
