On Day 3, he defied expectations by scoring a vital 66 runs off 94 balls, including 12 boundaries, forming a 107-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal. This unexpected resistance not only extended India's innings but also drained the energy out of the English attack. His innings, coupled with Washington Sundar's half-century, propelled India to a formidable total of 396, demoralizing the opposition.

Despite the praise for his batting, Akash Deep remains focused on his bowling.
