In 235 career games, the 25-year-old has accumulated 19 goals and 58 assists for a total of 77 points, while averaging nearly 21 minutes of ice time per game. In the 2023-24 season, York played all 82 games, contributing 10 goals and 20 assists for 30 points. During the 2024-25 season, he played 66 games, recording 4 goals and 13 assists.
The Flyers' decision to extend York's contract avoids the arbitration process, as he was a restricted free agent (RFA) eligible for arbitration this offseason. The contract includes no trade protection. With the NHL's salary cap projected to increase significantly, potentially reaching $113.5 million by the 2027-28 season, York's $5.15 million AAV could prove to be a valuable asset for the team in the long run.
