Anfield witnessed a moment of pure brilliance as Dominik Szoboszlai's stunning free-kick propelled Liverpool to a 1-0 victory over Arsenal in a tightly contested Premier League encounter. The Hungarian midfielder's late strike not only secured three crucial points for the Reds but also sent them soaring to the top of the league table.

The match, billed as an early-season title clash, lived up to its expectations with both teams displaying tactical prowess and defensive solidity. Liverpool, the reigning Premier League champions, and Arsenal, who finished as runners-up last season, engaged in a fierce battle for supremacy.

The first half was a cagey affair, with both sides trying to assert their dominance. Arsenal suffered an early blow when William Saliba was forced off due to injury. Liverpool had their moments, with Ryan Gravenberch setting up Cody Gakpo for a shot that went wide. Arsenal threatened from set-pieces, testing Alisson Becker in the Liverpool goal. Both teams played out from the back, baiting their opponents' press, but clear-cut chances were few and far between.

Liverpool emerged with renewed vigour after the restart, asserting their authority on the game. However, breaking down Arsenal's resilient defence proved a difficult task. The Gunners, meanwhile, introduced their new signing, Eberechi Eze, who made his debut after joining from Crystal Palace.

The decisive moment arrived in the 83rd minute when Liverpool won a free-kick. Szoboszlai stepped up and unleashed an unstoppable shot from 30 yards that soared into the top corner of the net. The Anfield crowd erupted as Liverpool took the lead, thanks to the Hungarian's moment of magic. According to Opta, Szoboszlai's strike was Liverpool's latest winning goal from a direct free-kick in a Premier League game since Steven Gerrard's against Aston Villa in August 2007.

Arsenal tried to respond, but Liverpool's defence stood firm, denying them any clear-cut chances. The Reds held on to secure a hard-fought victory and maintain their perfect start to the season.

Speaking after the game, Szoboszlai revealed his confidence in taking the free-kick. "I thought I would take a risk. I was confident, so I tried it and finally! It's a long time when you practice all the time," he said. He added that he hadn't practiced that exact type of shot recently but felt he had to take a risk and shoot harder.

This win gives Liverpool an early advantage in the title race, making them the only team in the league with nine points from their first three games. For Arsenal, it was a disappointing end to their 22-match unbeaten run against the "Big Six".
