India is set to face Kazakhstan in their final Pool A match of the Hockey Asia Cup 2025, aiming to maintain their unbeaten record in the group stage. The match is scheduled for today, September 1, 2025, at the Bihar Sports University Hockey Stadium in Rajgir, with a start time of 7:30 PM IST.

Having already secured a place in the Super 4s, India will be looking to carry their winning momentum forward. They have demonstrated a strong performance so far, with victories over China (4-3) and Japan (3-2). Captain Harmanpreet Singh has been instrumental in the team's success, leading by example and scoring five goals in the first two matches, all from penalty corners.

In their recent match against Japan, India secured a tense 3-2 victory. Mandeep Singh scored an early field goal, and Harmanpreet Singh added two penalty corner goals to give India a comfortable lead. However, Japan mounted a late comeback, with Kosei Kawabe scoring twice. Despite Harmanpreet Singh receiving a yellow card in the final minutes, India's defense held firm, and goalkeeper Krishan B Pathak made crucial saves to ensure the win. This match also marked Pathak's 150th international game.

While India's attack has been potent, the team's head coach, Craig Fulton, is expected to address some defensive vulnerabilities. Although they have already qualified for the Super 4s, India will be keen to fine-tune their defensive structure.

Kazakhstan, on the other hand, will be looking to end their pool stage campaign on a positive note.

A victory in the Asia Cup 2025 would not only secure India's fourth Asia Cup title but also guarantee a direct qualification for the 2026 FIH World Cup.

Fans in India can watch the live telecast of the India vs. Kazakhstan match on the Sony Sports Network. Live streaming will also be available on the Sony LIV app and website.
