Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has expressed his surprise at Daniel Levy's sudden departure as chairman of the club. Frank admitted that he, like many others, did not anticipate this change, especially after having worked with Levy for the past three months.

Levy's exit marks the end of a 24-year tenure. Frank acknowledged Levy's contributions to the club, praising him for laying the foundations for the future, including the construction of a fantastic training center and stadium, which allows the club to compete with bigger clubs.

Frank revealed that he had been planning for a long-term working relationship with Levy and was informed shortly before the official announcement. Despite the unexpected change, Frank remains optimistic about the future. He believes that Levy's departure will allow the club to build something even better and bigger.

The Spurs boss also believes that the transition will be easier for him compared to others at the club, as his direct interactions with Levy were primarily focused on the transfer window. With the transfer window recently closed, Frank anticipates less disruption to his day-to-day activities.

One of Levy's final actions was the acquisition of Randal Kolo Muani on Deadline Day from PSG. Frank dismissed claims that the signing was intended as cover for Dominic Solanke, who has been sidelined with injuries.

Frank has spoken with Levy since his departure to say goodbye. He reiterated the commitment of the majority owners ENIC despite ongoing takeover talks.
