Arsenal delivered a resounding 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, spoiling Ange Postecoglou's debut as their coach. The match, played at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, September 13, 2025, saw Arsenal's new signings shine, with Martin Zubimendi bagging a brace and Viktor Gyokeres also finding the net.

The Gunners dominated from the start, with Zubimendi opening the scoring with a stunning volley from the edge of the box after a corner was cleared. Arsenal's pressure continued, and they had several chances from set-pieces before finally breaking the deadlock. Just seconds into the second half, new signings combined to double the lead, with Eberechi Eze, making his full Arsenal debut, assisting Gyokeres for an easy finish.

Despite being two goals down, Nottingham Forest started to show some attacking threat, with Chris Wood hitting the bar with a superb effort that forced a good save from David Raya, who was making his 100th appearance for the club. However, Arsenal continued to press, with Gyokeres hitting the post. Zubimendi sealed the victory with his second goal, heading in a Leandro Trossard free-kick.

Arsenal's new signings made a significant impact, with Zubimendi, Gyokeres, and Eze all impressing. The trio showed promising signs of becoming a feared attacking force. Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera also had strong performances.

The result marks a disappointing start for Postecoglou at Nottingham Forest, who replaced the sacked Nuno Espirito Santo just days prior. The defeat means Forest have suffered back-to-back 3-0 losses under two different managers. There were even chants of "sacked in the morning" and "are you Tottenham in disguise?" directed at Postecoglou from the stands. Postecoglou acknowledged his disappointment with the outcome.

Arsenal's win sees them continue their strong home form, having now won three successive Premier League home games without conceding. They are unbeaten in their nine home games against Nottingham Forest in the competition.

Looking ahead, Arsenal face a busy week, with a Champions League opener against Athletic Bilbao on Tuesday followed by a home game against Manchester City on Sunday. Nottingham Forest and Postecoglou will be looking to bounce back from this defeat and implement his "Angeball" philosophy.
