India Wins Women's Hockey Asia Cup 2025 Final Against China: Live Score and Updates

The Indian women's hockey team faced off against China in the final of the Women's Hockey Asia Cup 2025, held in Hangzhou. India reached the final after a Super 4 stage that saw them draw 1-1 with Japan. Simultaneously, China's 1-0 victory over Korea paved the way for India to compete for the title against the host nation.

India started the Super 4s stage with a 4-2 victory over South Korea. However, they then suffered a setback in their second match against China, losing 4-1. China maintained a perfect record throughout the Super 4s stage, securing their place in the final early on. India's journey to the final was confirmed after China's narrow 1-0 victory against Korea.

In their Super 4s match against Japan, Beauty Dung Dung scored early in the first quarter for India, giving them a 1-0 lead. However, Japan's Shiho Kobayakawa scored a late equalizer in the fourth quarter, resulting in a 1-1 draw.

The final match between India and China was highly anticipated, with the winner securing a spot in the 2026 FIH Women's Hockey World Cup, scheduled to be held in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Going into the final, China had demonstrated dominant form, scoring 38 goals and conceding only one throughout the tournament. In contrast, India had twice drawn against Japan and suffered a 4-1 defeat against China in the Super 4s stage.

The final was held at Gongshu Canal Sports Park Stadium in Hangzhou. The match began at 5:30 PM IST.

Early in the final, Navneet Kaur scored, giving India a 1-0 lead. India earned three successive penalty corners, capitalizing on early pressure.

The Indian team for the Women's Asia Cup 2025 included goalkeepers Bansari Solanki and Bichu Devi Kharibam; defenders Manisha Chauhan, Udita, Jyoti, Suman Devi Thoudam, Nikki Pradhan, and Ishika Chaudhary; midfielders Neha, Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke, Salima Tete (captain), Sharmila Devi, Lalremsiami, and Sunelita Toppo; and forwards Navneet Kaur, Rutuja Dadaso Pisal, Beauty Dungdung, Mumtaz Khan, Sakshi, and Sangita Kumari.
